Mission Statement

The mission of the Emergency Management Program at Brigham Young University is to assist the University and its personnel in:

• preventing,
• mitigating,
• preparing for,
• response to,
• and recovery from

all incidents, emergencies or disasters which may impact the University or its personnel.

Overall Objectives

• Perserve life.
• Protect property and processes.
• Return the University to normal following a disaster.
• Protect the environment.

"Shots Fired" is a 20-minute training video by the Center for Personal Protection and Safety that we hope will be helpful to you. While it offers no guarantee of survival, the video provides valuable guidance for surviving an active shooter situation.
